Amethyst is a high-performance channel strip that brings you the warm sound of the most famous British consoles of the late 1970s and early 80s. Version 4 also adds a new preamp module, giving you 53 impressive preamps to choose from, lighting your path to absolute analog greatness.

Amethyst 4 reproduces the sonic behavior of all the components of the channel strip found in one of the most revered British consoles of all time. It includes a channel strip, an equalizer, a dynamic processor and a new preamplifier section.

Amethyst 4 is a high-performance channel strip that brings you the warm sound of some famous British consoles from the late 70s and early 80s.

The Amethyst channel strip consists of three sections: a preamplifier, an equalizer plus filters and a dynamics processor. Each of these sections is also available as a single plug-in for even more versatility. The filter section combines 2 filter sets (A-B mode). In addition to Equalizer A, the EQ section includes a new emulation (B). The circuitry of the new EQ is based on a famous British design that will undoubtedly give you that “expensive” sound. In addition to offering a brand new set of equalization curves, the EQ B has 2 controls: GLOWY for the LF section and SHINY for the HF section. These controls allow you to change the slope of the low and high shelf cells, so you change the overall tonal balance without changing the character of the sound. Amethyst is based on a mixing desk that is critically recognized as one of the best sounding consoles of all time.
