Ableton Live 12 v12.0b28 Windows

Ableton Live 12 v12.0b28 Windows (beta)

Ableton Live 12 stands out as a rapid, dynamic, and versatile software music sequencer and digital audio workstation, catering to both music creation and live performances. Packed with effects, instruments, diverse sounds, and an array of creative features, it provides all the tools necessary for crafting music across genres.

Compose within the confines of a traditional linear arrangement or break free from the limitations of a timeline in Live’s Session View. Effortlessly transition between musical elements, explore ideas seamlessly without interrupting the flow of your music.

Live 12 introduces a host of new features and updates:

MIDI Transformations Elevate your MIDI clips by incorporating simple or intricate variations. Add ornaments, articulations, draw acceleration and deceleration curves, connect successive notes and chords, or emulate the strumming of a guitar.

MIDI Generators Give life to melodies, chords, and rhythms with the innovative MIDI Generators. Customize your chosen Generator with specific constraints, witness the creation of playful and original patterns, and then transform these ideas into your unique compositions.

Max for Live MIDI Tools Max now opens the door to even more experimentation, enabling the creation of new MIDI Transformations and Generators based on existing ones or your own innovations.

MIDI Editing Improvements Rearrange selected notes by pitch, velocity, or duration. Stretch, split, chop, or join notes in novel ways; adjust note velocity; transpose them into a scale; or introduce chromatic or key-based intervals.

Keys and Scales Define the scale of your selected clip in Live’s Control Bar to visualize its notes in any created clip. Edit the clip using scale highlighting as a guide, transform and generate musical ideas based on the clip scale, or synchronize MIDI devices and instruments with the played clip.

Expanded probability Assign a probability rule to a group of notes, ensuring the entire group plays whenever the trigger is activated. Alternatively, select a chord and instruct Live to randomly play one note from it when the probability trigger is activated.

Embrace and explore tunings Effortlessly follow your preferred tuning systems or experiment with different ones. Work beyond the 12-tone equal temperament system and access tunings with Live’s devices and MPE-capable plugins.

Meld A bi-timbral, MPE-capable instrument designed for extensive sound shaping, allowing you to create a diverse range of textural and experimental tones with its two user-friendly macro oscillators.

Granulator III The latest version of Robert Henke’s granular instrument now includes MPE capability, offering expressive control over parameters like note bend, vibrato, and glissando. Additionally, you can capture audio in real time and manipulate it instantly.

Roar From subtle mastering-grade warmth to wild sound degradation, Live’s new coloring and saturation effect, Roar, provides three saturation stages that can be used in series, parallel, mid/side, or multiband configurations. Equipped with a feedback generator and an extensive modulation matrix.

New Modulation Behavior Modulation destinations no longer get taken over by the modulation source, allowing adjustment of the parameter being modulated even after assigning an LFO or other modulation source.

New Pack Lost and Found – A collection of sounds crafted from unconventional materials, percussive trinkets, unique foley recordings, and expressive objects, adding character and authenticity to your productions.

New Pack Performance Pack – Innovative devices from Iftah that push the boundaries of performing with Live, featuring snapshot capture, control of multiple parameters with layered macros and curves, looping in Arrangement View, and pre-arrangement of performance structure.

Stacked Detail Views Simultaneously view devices and the Clip Editor or automation and device parameters, facilitating work without the distraction of switching between views.

View styling Live 12’s cleaner, more minimal look eliminates visual complexity, keeping the focus on your music.

Mixer in Arrangement Live’s Mixer, previously exclusive to Session View, is now accessible in Arrangement View. Toggle it on or off with Mixer View Control in the bottom right corner or via the View menu, and configure it independently of the Arrangement Mixer.

Mixer improvements Live’s Mixer receives visual enhancements for more accurate mixing decisions, making it easier to read and control.

Browser Tagging and Filtered Searches Search for sounds in the Browser without the constraints of Live’s built-in categorization. Find all bass sounds in your Ableton library, whether samples or instrument presets.

Live 12’s sound content is tagged using a new system as a flexible alternative or addition to Collections in the sidebar. Sounds now come with sensible labels, and you can create your custom categories for easy access to favorite sounds and devices.

Sound Similarity Search Start with a sample and instruct Live’s browser to find comparable sounds and instrument presets with the help of a neural network.

Browser History Backtrack through your search history in Live’s Browser, retracing your steps and reviewing previously searched sounds or categories.

Accessibility and navigation improvements Control core workflows in Live 12 using assistive technologies like screen readers, and navigate to almost every part of Live with new keyboard shortcuts.

New Themes Choose from new themes and adjust them with cool, neutral, or warm tones and a high contrast mode.
